In Malaysia, you will never complain of jobs, at all. The only issue is – Can you find a job matching your skills in Malaysia? The answer given by most respondents covered in a research indicates a positive, and an optimistic trend. The transport, natural resources and the Financial Services sectors seem to be growing at a rapid rate.
Does this mean though that you could find a job in Malaysia, especially in these sectors? Contrary to your thought that it is not possible, doing some activities would help you land a good job in Malaysia. The unemployment rate in Malaysia is at a low clocking 3% last year. This obviously indicates that finding a job in Malaysia is not tough at all.
5 ways for you to get started in finding a job in Malaysia!
- If you are not a local, getting a job may not be that easy for you, especially soon after landing. You must have an excellent network with people who are already working for sometime here. In doing so, you multiply your chances of getting a job.
- Sign up with professional career networks – Joining professional career networks will help you in getting a job, you dreamt of, rather easily. Career networks like JOB03 will allow your resume to be seen by the employers who post their vacancies with them.
- Watch the newspaper classifieds daily! This is an old and trusted method, helping you in finding vacancies. Not all of them would suit your skills, and expecting them to match your skills will be unreasonable.
- Visit ‘commercial places’ to get some knowledge of different companies – It does not get worse than you sitting in your apartments, thinking a job would land on your laps all by itself. Take the initiative to visit places like “The Petronas” to find out different companies in Malaysia. This in itself may not be good enough for you to get a job, but good for you to start.
- Keep your eyes and ears open in café – Your cup of coffee at a local café could get you a job. Keep your eyes and hear what people talk amongst them. This is not a good habit; but who cares till the time you get a job in Malaysia.
