Obviously, you must have taken this decision looking at the giant strides taken by the economy of Dubai over the past few decades. Building a career in Dubai is not difficult to imagine, as the country will offer you enough opportunities for you to do so. Before you start though, you would need to think on a lot of factors.

Based on experience, here are 3 things you should know even before you start working in Dubai. These things will help you in building your career in Dubai.

  • What is your first salary in Dubai? – How your career goes in terms of you earning money will be dependant on how much you earn in your first job? The local currency is Dirhams. If you start with a salary of 3000 Dirhams ($750) per month, you could expect your next increment or salary jump only after you spend couple of years with the company.

  • Is your job done by thousands of other people? – You will find many sales jobs in Dubai with the presence of many financial institutions. Please note that a decade back these jobs were considered ideal for one to build a career in Dubai. As is, a lot of individuals have financial products galore and do not want any more. In such a case, succeeding in a sales career in Dubai is very difficult.

  • Understand the climate of Dubai – Ok, this is important and in a lot of cases, the first determining point if your choice is the correct one. Dubai can get really hot especially during summer months. If your job is one that requires spending a lot of time indoors, consider yourself in trouble very soon.

The heat in Dubai is unbearable at times, and you spending a lot of time outdoors will have you suffering from sun burns and rashes in no time.

Sitting in a chair in your air-conditioning cabin in the office and working would be the best opportunity for you. Not all would be able to land up a job like the one described above. At the same time, you should focus on the basics described above to build a good career in Dubai.
