Part time jobs, one may say is the easiest way to make a lot of money. The calculation is simple – Part time jobs will stretch for at the most 4 hours a day, and pay you 60% of what you used to get in a full time job. Smart! Start thinking and you could make 20% more off your full time job, by spending couple hours less. These statements could make you feel that part time jobs hiring should be on the rise. In fact it is, but the concept of full time jobs hiring is still on!
As per a recent report, 45% companies in Malaysia prefer full time jobs hiring instead of part time. This can be due to the nature of the jobs in various domains. The Malaysian economy has a lot of jobs right now, especially in the manufacturing as well as the tourism industry. With some of these roles in the senior management positions, expecting them to be filled up as part time positions is unreasonable.
Positions like that of a General Manager- Operations or a Store Manager for a leading retail brand in Kuala Lumpur would require full time jobs hiring. Part time candidates cannot fill up these positions, considering the fact that these positions have higher responsibilities and of course, a higher pay packet.
Companies in Malaysia are now taking the middle route of hiring full time employees as well as part time. More than 70% companies in Malaysia have started preferring part time employees over full time ones. In such a backdrop, one may say that full time jobs’ hiring is on the decline, but present all the same.
Malaysian companies, whether they are located in Kuala Lumpur or Sepang, reason this out to maintaining high profit margins in spite of the stiff competition across the industry. It is widely believed by a lot of company owners, that investing in part time resources can be 30% more profitable than investing in full time resources. Superficially, this seems to be a myth, yet some statistics back it up.
One can say conveniently that based on couple of instances of their full time jobs hiring strategy backfiring, companies have resorted to hiring people for part time vacancies. It may seem a frivolous thought, yet is real.

They do and in fact, if a recent statistic has to be believed, a lot of companies have started to advertise part time jobs or outsource their task in this manner.
The problem really is with people, as they have not got the message for the reason of advertisement of part time jobs. A lot of people in Malaysia think that Part time jobs in Malaysia are diluting the concept of skilled work in this country.
