Malaysian economy has started doing well in the past few years on count of their emphasis on Tourism. Suddenly, a career in tourism in Malaysia has become the most sought after what with a lot of visitors streaming into different cities of Malaysia all throughout the year. As per a government report released in 2005, tourism was said to contribute 7% to the economy. No wonder a career in tourism is one of the most popular in Malaysia.
Why is a career in tourism is so popular amongst people in Malaysia?
- A tourism career allows you to explore the depths of Malaysia. Malaysia is not all about high rises only. Traveling across Malaysia would bring you face-face with some of the most enthralling sights of this country. George Town, the cuisine capital, Ipoh and Johor Bahru are some cities that may not be explored by you if you are in any other job.
Being in a tourism job, you are sure to visit these places more than often.
- The true essence of Malaysia lies in its islands and beaches. Places like Labuan and Redang Island may hardly see you setting your foot if you work elsewhere. Going to these places would require a lot of time of yours, and you may not get that time off from your office. A tourism job is the best way for you to visit these unheard places and explore their scenic beauty.
- A career in tourism in Malaysia allows you to meet a lot of people. Assuming that people who would wish to see these places, you could be a guide for them and take them to places that they can boast of when they return back to their countries. Obviously, you would need to know these places at the back of your hands. That should not be a tough ask especially if you are building a career in tourism.
To explore the real beauty of Malaysia, you would need to move away from the main cities. Once you do so, you need to communicate in the local language. Thus, understanding how to communicate in the local language is one of the important aspects for anyone to be successful in tourism jobs in Malaysia.
